Brandy Creek Estate launching world-class spa experience amongst the Gippsland vines

Customised and eco-friendly wellness experiences are set to become a Brandy Creek Estate menu staple as one of the Gippsland region’s most well-loved winery, restaurant and vineyard destinations prepares to open the doors of their custom-built contemporary spa destination.

Sited at the top of Brandy Creek Estate with a tranquil valley outlook across the rolling vineyards to the Baw Baw Ranges east of Drouin, the spa journey from arrival to departure has been carefully orchestrated by award-winning Melbourne-based Carr Design Group in consultation with internationally renowned spa consultant Naomi Gregory.

From a structural perspective, Brandy Creek Spa consists of a rectangular, dark-stained timber pavilion with a strong Scandinavian presence.  Divided into three parts that are linked by terraces and an external covered walkway, the day spa includes five separate treatment rooms and a Turkish Hammam.  Built on a hill, the pavilions have been designed around the contours of the land to deliver a sense the spa is floating above the landscape which adds to the owner’s sentiment the spa should only make a light impression upon the countryside.

The internal aspect consists of cathedral ceilings, white and blond timber internal features and expansive glass walls that, in combination with the dark stained timber exterior, frame the spectacular vista the spa overlooks.  Adding to the Scandinavian feel, furnishings and fixtures have been selected to complement the contemplative, calming yet modern and minimalist aesthetic.

In line with Carr Design Group’s values, integral to the design are strong environmental principals. “The building is designed to be self-sustaining, with a rain water collection system and series of roof mounted photovoltaics providing both water and energy for the building. Locally sourced materials minimise travel distances and reducing the project’s carbon footprint” said Dean Dyson of Carr Design Group.

From arrival to departure, the guest journey through the space was carefully considered by luxury spa consultant Naomi Gregory who worked closely with Carr Design Group to ensure operational practicalities and the design aesthetic aligned to deliver a restful and restorative experience.

Paying homage to Brandy Creek Estate’s vineyard and winery roots, spa product ranges were selected to complement a full suite of luxury spa treatments with ingredients including plant botanicals. Treatments have been designed using Australian skincare brands Uspa and Alpha H to deliver the perfect balance of therapeutic nurturing with cosmeceutical punch. Guests will be able to purchase products for use at home as Brandy Creek Spa will also include a small retail space.

Widely recognised for her ability to create award-winning spa journeys, the Brandy Creek Spa project appealed to Naomi Gregory for personal as well as professional reasons.  “The Gippsland region will always hold a special place in my heart as this is where I grew up and my parents still live around here.  Being able to craft a spa experience at Brandy Creek Estate was particularly special and felt like a coming home of sorts.”

Whilst a full range of day spa treatments from maintenance to pampering to cosmeceutical are available, Brandy Creek Spa looks forward to their mainstay being provision of soul soothing rejuvenating treatment rituals to complement the Gippsland restaurant and winery offering.

Since Brandy Creek Estate first opened the doors of their winery and restaurant to the public, it quickly became a favourite with both locals and visitors to the region leading to the property being named ‘Best Tourism Winery in Gippsland’ in both 2007 and 2008.  Paella nights and delicious Churrasco and Tapas menus at the estate restaurant, award-winning wine friendly service and the peaceful setting will be the perfect accompaniment to their new spa experience.

“Our carefully crafted treatment line-up and considered spa journey is the perfect complement to the existing Brandy Creek Estate offering” said Naomi. “Brandy Creek Estate is renowned for their incredible restaurant and wine offerings and now guests have the opportunity to enjoy a day-escape combining spa and dining.  The relaxed Spanish Tapas dining style is perfectly matched to the relaxed and ritualistic approach we’ve designed for the spa journey.”

“The Brandy Creek Spa project has been such a joy to work on and the team can’t wait to open the spa and welcome new guests.  We believe it is a great addition to the range of visitor and local experiences in the Gippsland region” said Naomi Gregory.

The Brandy Creek Spa is scheduled to open in September 2015 and advance bookings can be made by emailing info@brandycreekwines.com.au.
